Swedish artist Anne Felicie Nickels, best known for her kiln-formed glass sculptures, began her artistic career in 2016. Through masterclasses, research and practice, Nickels has gained an advanced understanding of glassworking processes. She is inspired by the technical challenge of glass, which interacts with the creative process in a way that she finds enriching.
To create her unique, vibrant sculptures, Nickels manipulates the glass into design elements through a number of firings. These elements are then fused with cut glass and enamel to create a finished work of art. The subject matter touches on themes such as the conscious self in every form of life as well as the human imprint on the earth.
Nickels' work has been exhibited internationally and published in various art books and magazines around the world. She has been recognized with international awards and representation by galleries in Europe and the United States.
